Home Again Microchips Available at EVC

Did you know that getting lost is the number one cause of death for pets? Did you know that 1 in every 3 pets goes missing during its lifetime? Did you know that 90% of pets who go missing never return home because they had no ID? Do you know the solution to these questions?
A microchip is a safe, simple and permanent form of pet identification and is no bigger than a grain of rice. It is a small, sterile transponder that contains a unique ID code capable of being read by shelters and/or vets located across the nation. Anesthesia is not used for implantation and it requires no batteries. It is recommended for dogs and cats of all breeds and ages.
We offer Home Again Microchips at Escanaba Vet Clinic.  Once a Home Again Microchip is inserted; your pet is enrolled into their  24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year database. Microchipping your pet provides you the peace of mind that you have given your pet the permanent, lifetime ID he/she needs for the best chance at a happy homecoming.
Here is how it works:
  • Call us at 906-786-8020 to schedule an appointment to have a Home Again Microchip inserted into your pet
  • After the microchip is inserted between the shoulder blades your veterinarian’s office will enroll your pets ID and your personal contact information for you. Enrolling is what makes it possible for your pet to be positively identified.
  • If your pet gets lost and is taken to an animal shelter or clinic the staff will scan the microchip to reads it’s ID code.
  • Your information is then retrieved and you will be contacted to be reunited with your pet.
Scanning for a microchip has become a regular routine procedure in most animal shelters and clinics all over the nation.
